Obituary of M. Olive Bowlin

It is with great sadness that the family of M. Olive Bowlin, loving wife of the late Wilfrid Bowlin, announces her passing which occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Turnbull Nursing Home. She was born on March 23, 1918 to the late Leonard and Mae (Mullin) Quinlan. Olive grew up attending the parish of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was a long time member. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School and the Saint John School of Nursing. Olive and Wilfrid ran Bowlin’s Pharmacy in Grand Falls for 30 years where she was a member of the CWL. In 1973 they moved back to Saint John where Olive reinstated her nursing credentials and was employed at the General and Regional Hospitals where she worked in the Cancer Clinic. She was passionate about her nursing career and was just as passionate about bridge and duplicate bridge; though her greatest passion was her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Olive is survived by her daughters: Ann (Paul) Hill of Saint John, Marta (Alan) Fraser of Calgary, Connie (Paul) Duffie of Grand Falls and Beth O’Leary of Toronto, her grandchildren: Cindy, Paul, Michelle, Renee, Danielle, Kevin, Ryan and Christopher, her great grandchildren: Eden, Lauryn, Madison, Ben, Sam, Christopher and Sophie and her sister-in-law Mary Quinlan. Besides her parents and husband Wilfrid, Olive was predeceased by her brother Mullin Quinlan. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, (634-7425). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 31 at 12 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption, 360 Dufferin Row. Family and friends are welcome to visit prior to mass starting at 10:30 am until service time. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Turnbull Nursing Home - Activity Department or any charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made to www.brenansfh.com
