Obituary of Ronald Wayne Rose

The death of Ronald Rose of Rothesay, beloved husband of 45 years to Elizabeth (Rundle) Rose occurred peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home. Born on May 31, 1948 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Herman and Elva (Hart) Rose. Ron was a well respected Chartered Accountant (CA) and Tax Consultant with Grant Thornton. He was a true family man who treasured the times spent with those he loved. Ron always held a special place in his heart for the family cottage at Cambridge Narrows, where he enjoyed many family gatherings. He also loved to golf, fly fish and play bridge. Ron had devoted numerous hours to his community and was a member of various committees over the years. He served on the board of the Canadian Cancer Society, was a member of the American Land Act Committee and was treasurer of the New Brunswick Children’s Foundation. Ron was also a member of the Rotary Club and served on the board of the Saint John YMCA. He was past president of Family Services and served on the board of the MB Institute of CAs. Ron also served four terms as chairman of the Taxation Committee of CAs. His dedication to his family and community will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Ron is also survived by their daughters, Jennifer Rose, Gillian Rose (Robert Key) and Kimberly Rose; siblings, David Rose (Leslie), Gordon Rose (Pat) and Jean Myers (Ray); precious grandchildren, Dylan Key, Brayden Key and Sage Connelly; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his step-father, Alec Rose. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 369 Main Street Saint John on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM. A private interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the New Brunswick Children’s Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
