Obituary of Robert John Dykeman

The passing of Robert John Dykeman occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 10, 2016 in his 80th year. He is predeceased by his parents Ronald and Alice (O’Malley) as well as his brothers William (Jeanne), Ronald (Beverly), Earle and by his sister Elizabeth Vandenberg (Arie). He will be missed by his sister Shirley Margeson (Kenneth) and his brother David (Monique), and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and many cousins. Bob was a very social person and made friends easily. He enjoyed his weekly luncheons with lifelong friends David Lester and Douglas Larson. He had great joy looking after his brother Earle for many years. In retirement from his 27 year career with the Canadian Coast Guard, Bob loved travelling south and to Europe where he made many long lasting friendships. He had a love of music, playing the piano and most of all of late, rooting for his NY Yankees. Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to L’Arche Saint John would be appreciated by the family.
