Obituary of David Harold Mills

It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Harold Mills, loving partner of over 40 years to Garry W. John, announces his passing which occurred on Monday, March 13 at his residence in Rothesay. Born in Lubec, ME, he was a son of the late Garland and Jetta (Fitzsimmons) Mills of Campobello Island. David was an honest man, and a good friend. He was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with people he cared about and was an excellent story-teller. He loved his vacations with Garry to the Dominican Republic and relaxing on the beach. When David and Garry met it was love at first sight for the two of them, and over the years they owned and operated many businesses together, most recently the Phoenix Dinner Theatre in Saint John. In addition to Garry John, David will be missed by his siblings, Donald (Cheryl) and Jackie; his aunt Elizabeth; as well as many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5-8 pm. A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:30 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA – Animal Rescue or any charity of the donor’s choice.
