She was born in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, NB on April 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Beatrice and Gordon Foster. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard; children, David, Gregory and Elaine, and sister Jean. She is survived by two sons, Dan Deveau and Walter "Wally" Deveau (Janie); grandchildren: Kelly (Peter), Michael (Joyleen), Adam (Amanda), Ken (Jackie); and nine great grandchildren and Godchild Starr. After dating seven months they were happily married for 40 years. They had five children and lived in Grand Manan until a fire claimed three of their children (David, Gregory and Elaine), then in 1959 they moved to Cape Spencer, Saint John to work as a lighthouse keeper. Kay was an avid crafter and very talented at many different things, she knit and crocheted sweaters, socks, and baby sets for everyone she knew, hooked rugs and painted pictures. She was a great cook and baked for everyone! The family would like to extend a special thank you to Seely Lodge and Carleton Kirk Nursing Home, and their excellent staff. Kay enjoyed her time in both places, they both made her comfortable and very much at home.
