Obituary of Ronald M. Beckett

Beckett, Ronald M. "Flash" – It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald M. Beckett, husband of the late Barbara (Barton) Beckett announces his passing, which occurred on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ronald was born on March 6, 1930 in Saint John. He was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Mcleod) Beckett. Ronald loved to go boating and in his early years was an avid hockey player known as "Flash" to his friends. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be missed by many. Ronald is survived by his sons, Kim Beckett (Linda Robichaud) and Keith Beckett (Carol) both of Saint John; daughter, Kelly Whitty of Newfoundland; sister, Marie Horseman of Saint John; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Heidi, Lacey, Courtney and Timothy; great-grandchildren, Lyric, Mia, Kingston, Kayland, Jakob, Oliver and Lily; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Barbara and his parents, Ronald was also predeceased by his daughter, Kathy; his brothers, Joe, Roy, Terry and Dixie and his sister, Marcia. At Ronald’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
