Obituary of Beatrice Ada Gardner

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Beatrice Ada (Hawthorne) Gardner announces her passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Born on February 12, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (Clarke) Hawthorne. Beatrice is survived by her daughters Edith Beach (Merrill) of Lambert Lake, ME, Lillian Hassenfratz (George) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Cheyenne Clarke-Cook of Saint John, NB; step-daughters Mary Masterson, Elda Bailey, and Dawn Little; grandchildren Robert, Rosalee, Becky, Jody, Chris, Ashley, and Tanner as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her step-daughters Nadeen Sampson and Joan Foster; sister Ruth Hawthorne and brothers Orlow, Hazen, David, and Earl Hawthorne. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB E2K 3H6 (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8. A funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment to take place in McAdam at a later date.
