Obituary of Lola Mae Gass

The death of Lola Mae (Farnham) Gass, beloved wife of the late H. Gordon Gass, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Born in Vanceboro, ME on November 29, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ethel (Grass) Farnham. Lola is survived by her children: Kevin (Elizabeth) Gass of Vancouver, BC, Cheryl Gass of Saint John, Clyde Gass of Mission, BC, and David (Guylaine) Gass of Ottawa, ON; sister Doris Rutherford of Howland, ME; and grandchildren: Alex, Monika and Jennifer; brother-in-law Paul Gass (Hazel) of McAdam, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Stanley Farnham Jr., Horace Farnham and Ronald Farnham; and sister Lucy Morris. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB in the spring. For those who wish remembrances in memory of Lola may be made to St. John the Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clements, Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB, McAdam Historical Restoration Project or a charity of the donor’s choice.
