Obituary of Helen Grace Frost

While we celebrate a life well lived, we grieve for the passing of Helen Frost on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Kennebec Manor with her family by her side. Born on April 25, 1924, she was a daughter to the late Norman and Lillian (Chambers) Cooke. Helen was a woman of faith and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for over 70 years. She spent her life in service to others, and that service expressed itself with her work as a Licensed Practical Nurse, her operation of the Helen Grace Manor Special Care Home, and through her extensive volunteering with her church, and several charitable health care organizations. Helen will be fondly remembered by her loving family, her children: William (Marjorie) Akerley, Aubrey (Doreen) Akerley, Marilyn Murphy, Ruth McQuinn and Krista (Ross) Galbraith, her step-children: Wallace Frost, Jean Smith, Linda Smith and Deborah Graham, sisters: Ivy Henry and Freda Stewart, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Norman Frost, 7 of her siblings, two grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law and a step-daughter. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Funeral Service will be taking place on Friday, December 8 at 11 AM from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 509 Woodward Ave with interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
