Obituary of Muriel Angela MacKenzie

The passing of Angie MacKenzie, wife of the late Samuel Thomas MacKenzie, occurred on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at her residence in Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born April 3, 1928 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Harry Burton and Muriel A. (Lingley) Lockhart. Angie graduated from Saint John Vocational School, where she played softball and basketball. She worked for Irving Oil for 18 ½ years, and in the office of Zellers on King Street for 20 years. She loved shopping, and spending summers at Crystal Beach with family. She was an associate member of Carleton Curling Club, a Millidgeville Seniors Group Member, a former member of the YM/YWCA Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the UCW at Portland United Church- Jeanette Ball Unit, a former member of Glen View United Bowling League, and a member of the Tuesday Noon Hour Card Club for about 50 years. She doted on her grandchildren, and took great pride on teaching them how to swim. One thing Angie was very proud of was her appearance on The Price Is Right while she was touring the United States with her husband and sister. Angie is survived by her daughter, Lori Richardson (John); son, Terry MacKenzie (Susan); grandchildren: Ryan MacKenzie (Miranda), Matthew MacKenzie (Nikki), Katelyn MacKenzie, Jason Lyttle (Cynthia), Allyson Belyea; great-grandchildren: Sam, Emma, Kendra, Brianna, and Ethan; brother, William Lockhart; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy O’Neill; and brothers, Burton and Roy. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
