Obituary of Anthony James Piercey

It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony Piercey, loving husband to Helen Rose Piercey, announces his passing which occurred on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on August 7, 1963 in Saint John, he was a son to Betty Hachey and the late Gene Piercey. Tony was a hard worker and dedicated over 20 years to Dowd Roofing. He enjoyed all things nature, fishing, cooking, he was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leaf fan; never missing a game and he could always be found listening to his favourite music artists Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Tony was a devoted family man who was everyone’s best friend. Family gatherings were always something he looked forward too with great joy, many happy memories were made. In being a great family man, he was an enthusiastic grandfather, having great love for his new grandson Carter Scott Anthony Piercey, whom he loved spending time with. He was the light of his life and always made him smile ear to ear. Above all else, Tony was a kind, caring and humble man. He would do anything for others for the small price of seeing them smile and be happy. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, his children: Scott Piercey (Jasmine), Josh Chevarie, Johnathan (Crystal), Isaac (Sarah) Clements, Melissa (Devin) Duplisea, several grandchildren, sisters: Kim (Clayton) Ricketts, Leah Morrell-Wood (Wayne) and Kelly Morrell, brothers: Chris Piercey (Joanne) and Dana Morrell, along with many nieces, nephews and members of his extended family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Tony’s wishes, there will be no services. At his request, his body will be donated to the Human Body Donation Program at Dalhousie Medical School.
