Obituary of Paulette Josephine Stephenson

Stephenson, Paulette Josephine – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paulette Stephenson, wife of the late Jan Stephenson, on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice surrounded by her family. Born in Central Blissville on May 24, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Josephine (Clark) Carter. Paulette spent time as an RNA at Turnbull Nursing Home and particularly enjoyed working at Centracare as a psychiatric attendant. Although she could be "as tough as nails", she was known as being very generous with her friends and family. Shopping was one of Paulette’s greatest pastimes. Her greatest joy was her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Paulette will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Curtis MacLeod (Lois) of Brown’s Flat, Jan Stephenson (Louise) and Tawn Stephenson, both of Saint John; sister, Barbara Gaudet of Central Blissville; grandchildren: Natasha Dorey (Bill), Josh Stephenson, Jan Alexander Jr. Stephenson, Brice MacLeod (Cynthia), Scott MacLeod (Theresa Debly), Patricia Manning (Nick) and Megan Sutton; great-grandchildren: Cassidy Cyr, Cody Manning and Riley Manning. In addition to her husband and parents, Paulette was predeceased by her siblings: Keith, Douglas, Donald, Lloyd, Claude, Thelma and Marland. Paulette’s family would like to thank the staff at Bobby’s Hospice and of 5CN of the Saint John Regional Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Paulette and the family during this difficult time. Also, special thanks to Dr. Williamson who went above and beyond in caring for Paulette. Finally, the family would like to thanks Rev. Walter Perry for being with Paulette in her final days and for leading her to the Lord! Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Although there will be no visiting, a memorial service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 12:00 PM, in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
