Obituary of Leona M. Paynter

The death of Leona M. Paynter of 2 Brunswick Place, Saint John, occurred on Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Dr. V. A. Snow Center, Hampton, NB. Born in Knightville, Kings Co., NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Colbourne and Jennie Edith (Simonson) Paynter. Leona was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Full Gospel Assembly for 28 years and later was the Secretary-Treasurer of Christian Heritage Ministries. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in her home. Leona volunteered at the Animal Rescue League and was always putting the needs of others before her own. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sisters, Liley Simpson of Moncton and Matilda Paynter of Hampton, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Garrett and Thomas Paynter and three sisters, Annie Seymor, Myra Paynter and Florence Waddell. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Cornhill, NB. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
