Obituary of David Ernest Chandler

The death of David Ernest Chandler of Old Black River Road, Saint John, husband of Ruth (Shannon) Chandler, occurred on Saturday, October, 29, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Wallace and Edna (Amburg) Chandler. David was a Stationary Engineer with the Department of Transportation for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53 for 33 years, was a Scout Leader for many years and was an avid dart shooter. In his younger years David was a member of the Rodney Sea Cadet Corps. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, David (Wanda) of Moncton and James (Joan) of Maces Bay, four daughters, Patty Simon of Welland, ON, Lynn Gillespie (Wayne), Tina Chandler (Bobby) and Andrea Moulaison, all of Saint John, two brothers, Roland (Jennie) and Harold (Margaret), both of Saint John, two sisters, Leola Janes of Saint John and Louine Chandler of Ontario, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandson and three brothers. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Wednesday 12-2 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 2:15 PM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
