Obituary of Norma Jean Scott

Scott, Norma Jean The death of Norma Jean Scott, wife of the late Everett Russell Scott, occurred on November 4, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Edith Rose (Stevens) Whittaker. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, the Rebecca Sapphire Lodge, the Haramee Women's Missionary Society and the Main Street Baptist Church Friendly Fellowship Group. She was best known for her love of children and spent over 20 years helping in the nursery of Main Street Baptist Church. She is survived by sons Calvin and his wife Pat of Saint John, Russell and his wife Sandra of Edmonton, AB, her daughter Norine and her husband John Long of Saint John, her brothers-in-law Edgar Smith (Frances) of Odessa, ON, Ivan Smith (Joyce) of Newtown, NB, her sisters-in-law Margaret Whittaker (the late Harold) of Hampton, Ann Ricker (Victor) of Saint John, Dorothy Tippett (the late George) of Saint John, her grandchildren Geoffrey Scott, Amanda Scott, Caroline Moore (Kevin), Sherri Egers (David), Amy Long, Andrew Scott and Adam Long, her great-granddaughters Abbigayle and Emmily and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant son David, her brothers George, Harold, Stanley and Ernest Whittaker and Muriel Munford and Florence Vincent. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at 1:30 pm, from Main Street Baptist Church. Interment will take place at the Titus Hill Cemetery. Remembrances made to Main Street Baptist Church, the Canadian cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
