Obituary of Bernice M. Chamberlain

The death of Bernice Mary Chamberlain formerly of Pugsley Avenue, Saint John, wife of the late Clarence M. “Jim” Chamberlain, occurred on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Amanda (Thomas) Stirling. Mrs. Chamberlain was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School and was employed with Sears Canada for 20 years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Pius X Church and volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Community Meals-on-Wheels. Bernice spent 30 years summering at Pine Cone Trailer Park in Sussex, NB and 10 years wintering in Largo, FL. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting for her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by four sons, W. Douglas (Louise M.) of Quispamsis, Paul E. of Saint John, Brian K. (Carol) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Keith W. of Saint John, two daughters, Norma Mullett (Donald) of Rothesay and Nancy Adams (Leslie) of Dartmouth, NS, two sisters, Jean Doherty (Sholly) of Oromocto and Edith O'Leary of Ottawa, ON, 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society or Rocmaura Foundation would be appreciated.
