Obituary of EVERETT E.- HIGGINS

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Everett Edmund Higgins formerly of 310 Woodward Avenue, Saint John, husband of Jean (Ross) Higgins, occurred peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Church of St. John & Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on January 18, 1914, he was the son of the late William John and Margaret Marie (Walsh) Higgins. Mr. Higgins graduated from Saint John High School in 1932 and completed his studies at Modern Business College. During the Second World War, Everett served in the reserves in Halifax, NS. He was a third degree Mason at the Albion Lodge No. 1, 1957. Everett enjoyed a career spanning 48 years at New Brunswick Publishing, retiring in 1979. It was then that he devoted his time and love to his passions, which included his family, his gardens, traveling and sports. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, two grandchildren, Heather Lynn (Robert DeMerchant) of Kingston, NB and Warren Derek Seeley (Shelly) of Black River, NB, five precious great grandchildren, Kyla Jean, Ryan Michael, Derek Matthew, Lucas Allison and Olivia Grace, one sister, Margaret Beckett of Halifax, NS and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only daughter, Dianne Jean, two brothers, Nathan and John Henry and one sister, Audrey Lounder. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, with visiting on Wednesday 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Main Street, Saint John, on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
