Obituary of Mary Louise Horne

Horne, Mary Louise (Kendrick) 1910-2006 - Louise Horne passed away May 17, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born December 15, 1910 she was the oldest of eight children of Thomas and Pearl (Jenks) of Parrsboro, NS. Louise is survived by her son Donald (Gladys) Rothesay, NB, two sisters Phylis Bell and Frances (Lloyd), cousins and brother Patrick (Cecile), grandchildren Gregg Horne, Derrick Horne and Krista Jones, great grandchildren Delaney and Dylan Jones and Sidney Hauber. She was predeceased by her husband J.O.R. (Bert) Horne, sisters Sharon Kendrick and Melita Cooper and brothers Thomas and John. Louise met and remembered people well. She was loved for her interesting conversations and outstanding memory. After spending most of her adult life in Moncton, she moved to Saint John in 2004 to be closer to Don and Gladys. She instantly became popular with the Management, Staff and Residents at Chateau de Champlain. She enjoyed their support, encouragement and companionship. She enjoyed her friendships with the many sales and service people she met in stores and restaurants. She shared her husband's love for Amateur Radio and on his passing, exchanged her license for his VE1DC. A remarkable woman has passed on leaving many happy and loving memories for family and friends. Memorials to her favourite charity, Friends of the Moncton Hospital, would be appreciated or a charity of the donor's choice. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Interment in the family plot, Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro, NS. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424).
