Obituary of James Norman McAfee

The death of James “Jim” Norman McAfee, husband of Ora Mae (Shaw) McAfee of Saint John, NB, occurred on September 15, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John the son of the late Leslie and Eva Glen (Holder) McAfee. During World War II Jim had served with the Merchant Navy as a Radio Operator and later had worked for the Ford Motor Company retiring after thirty-two years of service. He was a faithful member of Main Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and his time spent fishing. Survived by his wife, Ora Mae; two children, Paul (Carol) McAfee of Bayswater, NB and Lynda (Gary) Stevens of Quispamsis, NB; one sister, Margaret (Gerald) Gateman of Burlington, ON; and three grandchildren, Susan Clark (Blair), Karen Betts (Luke) and Gregory McAfee. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Main Street Baptist Church on Monday at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the Alzheimer’s Society, Main Street Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
