Carpenter, Dorothy J. … Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Dorothy Jean (Taylor) Carpenter, of Rothesay, wife of Leland Carpenter occurred on Monday, October 16, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Rosedale, NB she was a daughter of the late William and Sadie (Delong) Taylor. Dorothy (Dot) was a “stay at home” super mom. She had many interests; she was a talented seamstress, painter and decorator. Mom loved the Lord and enjoyed working in her church. She was a hostess to regular Sunday night suppers attended by her loving family. Dorothy was a former member of Waterloo Street Baptist Church and currently a member of Kennebecasis Baptist Church. Besides her loving husband Leland she is survived by three sons: William “Bill” (Connie) of Rothesay; Paul (Corinne) of Saint John; Kevin (Donna) of Rothesay; two daughters: Linda Carpenter of Saint John; Susan Carpenter of Kingston Peninsula; sister, Wilma Taylor of Saint John; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brother, Roy and sister, Rowena. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Atlantic Division) 5251 Duke St. Suite 417 Halifax, NS B3J 1P3.
