Obituary of Wendy Karyn Baxter

With her proud sister and friends, Wendy passed away quietly in Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Loving and giving, Wendy was an inspiration to all who knew her. Wendy will be truly missed for her determination, courage, creativity, humour and sheer will to live life to the fullest. Wendy believed if you smile at life, life will smile back. Wendy graduated from Millidgeville North High School in 1978. She was President of the Student Council 1977-1978. While in High school she participated on the Social Committee, Home Room Rep, Vandalism Committee, implemented beginning of Soccer Field and organized three High School Reunions 10th, 20th and 25th. Wendy went to UNB Fredericton and obtained her Business Degree in 1982. She then became a Chartered Accountant in 1986, employed at Clarkson and Gordon, Comptroller at TS Simms, Director of Corporate Development at Baxter Foods, Manager of Finance and Treasurer at Coast Tire, Comptroller at Fundy Computer Services. Special thanks to the staff and doctors at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the Saint John Regional Hospital through Oncology, Rehab and Palliative Care. Extended thanks to Wendy’s thoughtful, loyal caregivers. Wendy sadly leaves behind her “precious” daughter Kate, “handsome boy” Ginger the cat, beloved parents Malcolm and Kathryn (Ross), brother Robert and sister Kathy, as well as her special friends Sandy and Art Boudreau. Aunts Karen (Ross) Moffatt and Roberta (Baxter) Mott, Uncles Bob Moffatt, Lester Mott, Cousins Gary Mott, Susan Moffatt-Bruce, Ross Moffatt, sister-in-law, Meridith (Somerville) Baxter, nephew John Baxter; niece Emily Baxter. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424). Friends are invited to join a celebration of Wendy’s life at Portland United Church on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, with visiting from 11:00 am until the service at 12:00 noon followed by a reception at the Church Hall. Wendy’s wishes were for donations to be made to the Montreal Neurological Institute, Neurodevelopment Office Brain Tumor Research Centre, 3801 University Avenue, Montreal, Quebec, H3A 2B4.
