Obituary of David H. Gunn

The death of Dave Gunn “Gunner” of Saint John , NB husband of Sylvia (Ritchie) Gunn, occurred on Monday, November 20, 2006 at his residence. Born in Saint John, NB he was a son of the late Howard and Gertrude (Anderson) Gunn. Dave was employed with CN Rail for 25 years before his retirement in 1997. He was an avid golfer and loved his Harley (the dog and the bike). David is survived by his two sons; David Gunn of Saint John and Rev. Michael Hamilton (Leanne) of Quispamsis, NB, one daughter, Krista Hopper (Chuck) of Moncton, NB, grandchildren; Jessis and Jaida Hamilton, Lauren and Avery Hopper, sister-in-laws; Donna Petrie (Bob) of Leduc, SB, Carol Short (Frank) and Pat Ritchie of Saint John, brother-in-law, Donald Ritchie (Diane) of Saint John and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Besides his parents, Dave is predeceased by one grandchild, Luke Hamilton and brother-in-law, Rick Ritchie. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation, a private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
