Obituary of Genevieve Cecile Stevens

Genevieve Cecile Stevens passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Loch Lomond Villa (Birch Lane) on January 3, 2007. Born on November 17, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Levi Melanson and the late Amanda Bourgeois. Gen enjoyed skating on speed skates with a partner to the music of St. Mary’s Band. She was an avid card player and she loved to dance. She is survived by son Harold (girlfriend Donna Armstrong), daughter Lorraine Margeson (Robert H.) of Wilmot, NS, brothers Frank of Leorninster, MA, Laurie (Marilyn) of Phoenix, Arizona, Arthur (Companion Jeanine Varner) of Las Vagas, Nevada, sister Lorraine Hachey (Roger) of Fitchburg, MA, sister-in-law Margaret Stevens of Saint John, granddaughters Angela Devlen of Salem, MA, Debbie Jones (Dwayne) of Fredericton, grandson Benjamin of Saint John, great-grandchildren Levi Jones and Hillary Devlen. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel J. Stevens, brothers Eric and Walter and sisters Freda and Mabel. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 9:30 am, from St. Ann’s Church, Simpson Drive, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
