Obituary of Dorothy F. T. Lawrence

The death of Dorothy Lawrence of Saint John, age 98 years, occurred peacefully at her residence on May 13, 2007, surrounded by her family. Born – March 13, 1909 in Delaps Cove, NS, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John and Georgina (Lawrence) Brothers. She was a resident of Saint John for over 80 years, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a great friend to all who knew her. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy W. Harrison and the late Edwin C. Lawrence. Dorothy leaves to mourn: her sons, William (Joan) of Quispamsis, NB and Paul of Saint John; her daughter, Dorothy (James) Wells of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Ada White of Liverpool, NS; seven grandchildren: James (Kathy), LeRoy (Eva) and Patricia Wells, Darren Harrison, Karen (Ian) MacKinnon, Lynn and William Harrison; eleven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Predeceased by her sons, LeRoy Jr., Gerald, James and Philip; her daughter, Marion Johnson; brothers: John, William, Stewart, James and Baden; sisters: Alice, Evelyn, Grace, Rosanna and Mary. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 11 am. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Family flowers only. Remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
