Obituary of Captain Donald Malcolm Wilson

Wilson, Donald Malcolm … The death of Captain Donald Malcolm Wilson of Saint John, NB, occurred on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Campobello Lodge Nursing Home. Born on April 25, 1932 in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late George "Pete" and Rita (King) Wilson. As a youth Donald's home was on Chesley Street. ("Straight Shore"). While still a teenager he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served for five years. His following years of employment in the U.S. and Canada included: bus driver, tractor trailer driver, and tug boat second mate. He attended Navigational School in PEI and became licensed as a Captain of Inland Waters which led to his most passionate work as a tugboat captain for JD Irving Inc, NB and also Verrault Navigation, NS. Once retired, Donald volunteered his time with the Saint John Police Department. Survived by his wife, Margaret (Jenny) of Stoneham, MA; his loving daughter, Tracey Wilson of Wakefield, MA; three brothers: Jack (Gwen) of Morna, NB, Peter (Lee) of Grand Bay … Westfield, NB and David of Saint John; one sister, Adelaide Rodgerson of Saint John; a sister-in-law, Muriel Wilson of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, James. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 6 until the time of the Memorial Service at 8 pm in Brenan's Chapel. Remembrances may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of NB
