Obituary of Charles Alban Bernard Kyle

Surrounded by his family, the death of Charlie Kyle occurred on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on March 28, 1938 in Saint John to the late William and Laura (Crawford) Kyle. Charlie worked for Saint John Ship Building as a boilermaker and sheet metal worker until his retirement. He was a member of CUPE Local #3, St. Paul’s Anglican Church (Rothesay) and the Caledonia, Jervis Bay and Fireman’s Pipe Bands. In his spare time, Charlie loved woodworking, painting and opera. He is survived by his loving wife Edith (Linden) Kyle of Rothesay, NB; son, Murray (Krista) of St. Martins, NB; two daughters: Ann Kyle-Wade (Gregory) of Singapore and Judy McCavour (Guy “predeceased”) of Rothesay, NB; one brother, Kenneth Kyle (Maureen) of Saint John, NB; four sisters: Claire Albert (Emile) of Scarborough, ON, Joan Bradford of Saint John, NB, Christina Crawford of Woodmans Point, NB and Marion Whalen (Ivan) of Moncton, NB; eight grandchildren: Natalie, Brandon, Jordan, Shilo, Madison, Olivia, Ethan and Alexa; great granddaughter, Jaden and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, He was predeceased by his sister Kay. Charlie loved and was loved by all his family, he will be especially missed by his dog, Chico. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 10 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice.
