Obituary of Constable Jason Andrew Porter

By accident, with his son Jack and his daughter Hannah, the sudden passing of Jason Porter, husband of Christy (Adams) Porter, of Saint John occurred at Oromocto, NB on Sunday, February 15, 2009. Jason was born in Saint John on April 7, 1977, the son of Ralph and Wanda (Paul) Porter. He attended Mount Allison University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree and then graduated from R.C.M.P. Training Academy in Regina, SA. He was stationed at Perth, NB and Grand Bay-Westfield for the last five years. Jason was a devoted husband and father. Besides his wife and parents, Jason leaves behind his two sisters: Julie Porter of North Sydney, NS and Joanna Porter of Woodstock, NB; paternal grandparents, Robert and Gladys Porter of Woodstock, NB and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Robert and maternal grandparents, Dr. Peter and Minnie Paul. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Main Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, Main Street Baptist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
