Obituary of G. Donald White

It is with great sadness that the family of G. Donald White “Don” announce his death which occurred after a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital, March 18, 2010. Born July 8th, 1930, Don was the son of the late George D. White and Helen (Giggey) White. He was a chartered accountant. Don loved fishing, hunting, his family and socializing with friends. His summers were spent in Long Reach where he enjoyed gardening and greeting everyone that visited with his story telling and his great sense of humour. Don is survived by his wife, Marilyn Harding (Gault) of 55 years, his 3 sons, Stephen of Gorhams Bluff, Doug (Linda) of Long Reach, David (Michele) of Saint John, his grandchildren of whom he adored, Joe (Carolyn Brussee) of Quispamsis, Christine Thorpe (Steve) of Long Reach, Ben of Saint John, Nick of Saint John, several nieces and nephews. Don is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Wells of Shampers Bluff, Janet Scribner (Wendell) of Saint John; brother in law Bill Foster (Peggy), St. George. He was predeceased by sister, Beverly Foster and brother-in-law Wally Wells. By the request of the family there will be no visiting. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424); at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
