Obituary of David Peter James Sherwood

– It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David Peter James Sherwood which occurred on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on January 13, 1943 he was a son of the late John "Jack" and Bernice (Lord) Sherwood. David was retired form the Saint John Shipyard. He was well known in the city for playing with various bands with Bruce Holder Jr, Mark Durelle and Ned Landry. David loved to play the drums. He was a member of the legion at St. Pius X Church. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Ellen (Daniel W.) Doyle of Saint John; John C. (Barb) Sherwood of Hampton and Colleen (Gordon) Dugas of Blacks Harbour; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 12 noon from Holy Trinity Church, Canon St. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Romero House Soup Kitchen or any Charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
