Obituary of L. Ruth Haines

Laura Ruth Haines of Saint John passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Born at Saint John on May 1, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Gladys (Cooper) Haines. Ruth is survived by her sister, June Riggs (Don) of South River, NL, and brother Ken Haines (Linda) of Quispamsis; nieces Paula Perry (Mark) and Courtney Riggs; nephews Peter Haines (Paula), Bob Haines (Tina), and Matthew Riggs and their families; as well as several cousins in New Brunswick and Newfoundland. The family would like to thank the staff of 3CN and Palliative Care for their kindness and care of Ruth and her family during her illness. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Interment will take place privately in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital or to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
