Obituary of Gary Raymond Joseph LeBlanc

Surrounded by his family the death of ‘Gary’ Raymond Joseph LeBlanc, age 57 occurred on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Bobby’s Hospice after a very brief battle with cancer. Born May 30, 1954 in Halifax, NS he was the eldest son of Beatrice (Conway) and the late Albert LeBlanc. Gary worked for J. D. Irving, Limited as a Scaler for the past 32 years. Gary’s pride and joy is his two daughters, Renee Marie (Justin Archibald) and Andrea Rose who without fail were by his side night and day as he tried to fight his battle. Gary was a proud Harley owner and on the night of his death the rumbling of the thunder was heard and his daughters said "That’s ‘Papa G’ driving his Harley through the Pearly Gates – we know he’s at peace now". In addition to his mother and daughters Gary is survived by his friend Linda Galbraith, his sister and brothers of PEI, Gail Jennings, brother-in-law Brian, Steven and Mike (Carla Sampson), his niece Falon Jennings (PEI), nephew Ryan LeBlanc (BC), his daughter’s mother Donna LeBlanc and his in-laws Melvin and Annette Blanchard and family, many cousins, an aunt and many close friends that he thought of as his extended family. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row , Saint John (506- 634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Wednesday March 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Souris, PEI at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Gary’s memory to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
