Obituary of Sgt. Arthur James Cromwell

Art Cromwell passed away suddenly at his home in Carter’s Point on Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was born in Saint John on July 7, 1939 to the late Edmund S. and Grace A. (Gregory) Cromwell. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1958, serving in various stations in Canada and Germany. Art was an avid golfer, dart player and skier; he also enjoyed making his own wine and beer. Art received the Special Service Medal (NATO) and the Canadian Forces Decoration and two more medals for his service to the RCAF and Canada. He was a 35 years member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58. Art is survived by his sister, Dawna Little (Bob) of Grand Bay-Westfield; brother, Gene Cromwell (Chris) of Lisle Isle, IL, USA and several nieces and nephews in Canada, England and USA. Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Cromwell. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). At Art’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
