Obituary of Everett A. P. Healy

The death of Everett Healy occurred on June 5, 2012. He was born in 1922 in Moncton, N.B. and was the son the late Robert E. and Freda (Davis) Healy. He was pre-deceased by his wife and best friend Marjorie (Hewson) (Lyne) and survived by four children Barbara (Don) Munro of Belleisle Creek NB, Michael Healy of Fredericton, Anne (Roger) LeBlanc of Bedford NS and Patricia Teed [Murray Hoyt] of St. Andrews NB, and eleven grandchildren, Laura Thiemann, Ryan Thiemann, Sarah Healy, Lisa (Healy) Perna, Jennifer (Hewson) Anyegah, David Hewson, Danny LeBlanc, Katherine Teed, Michael Teed, Christine Teed and Emily Teed, four great grandchildren Monicah, Morgan, Anthony and Jack. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Janet Robb of Moncton, brother Clair (Sinclair), of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy [Page], and sons James Healy and Bruce Hewson, daughter-in-law Valerie Healy and brother Robert. He was employed for a short time with the Bank of Nova Scotia, following matriculation from Moncton High School, then during the war years, served in both the Canadian Navy and the Canadian Army. In 1946 he joined Willett Foods Ltd, and worked in Moncton and Campbellton before coming to Saint John in 1967. Retiring in 1985, he and Marjorie spent winters in Florida, and their summers on the Belleisle, before moving to Rothesay in 1994 where they enjoyed family, relatives and friends. In 2010 they moved to Parkland in the Valley where they met and enjoyed many new friends. They were avid gardeners, and had an active life in music, curling and in service to the community, in Florida and at home. A Diocesan lay reader for many years, Ev served at St. George’s Anglican Church in Moncton, St. Paul’s (Valley) Church in Saint John, The Parish of Central Kings and at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Rothesay. He was an active Rotarian in Moncton and Saint John. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday June 8 from 2 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm –8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Church, Rothesay on Saturday, June 9 at 3 pm. Internment will take place in Moncton at a later date.
