Obituary of Ross Burpey Saunders

The unexpected death of Ross Saunders, husband of Jo-Anne Saunders (Dawson) occurred on Thursday, May 16, 2013. He was born on January 31, 1958 in Saint John to Aileen (Paulsen) and the late Burpey Saunders. Ross worked as a C-II custodian at Loch Lomond Elementary School. He also worked for the school board as a bus driver for nine years. Ross was a generous and loving husband and father, a true family man. He loved trailoring and fishing in the summers. He was a member of Cupe Local 380. Besides his loving wife, Jo-Anne; Ross is survived by his sons: Troy Saunders (Angela) of Quispamsis, Andrew Dawson of Edmonton, AB; and Jarod Saunders (Jessie) of Campbellton; daughters: Chelsea Crossman (Sean), Kayleigh Lively (Ian Chase) and Keighan Whelley (Brian); brothers: Glendon and Truman Veysey, Winston Lester and Charles Saunders (Eleanor); sister: Florence Hawthorne (Lloyd); grandchildren: Richard, Kaiden, Theoren, Ronan, Trevor, Chase, Kenny and Lola; one uncle and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
