Obituary of Doreen R. M. Martin

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doreen Martin, wife of the late Rheal Martin announces her death on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on September 26, 1940 in Saint John to the late Azade and Irene (Bastarache) Cormier. Doreen was an avid scrapbooker and was a fixture at Wal-Mart where she enjoyed her exercise. She is survived by her son, Ralph Martin (Collette) of Saint John; brothers: Norman "Jocko" Cormier (Paula) of Saint John and Brian Cormier (Cheryl) of Lorneville; sister, Lorraine Arsenault (Albert) of Fredericton; grandson, Marc-Andre Chaisson; long-time friend, Shirley Hanson; sisters-in-law: Shirley and Carol Cormier and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her, husband, parents and brothers: Gerald and Maurice Cormier. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Douglas; his nurse, Carolyn and the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital for their support over the years. Also to her caregivers: Pam Rocetti, Julie Dodds and Elaine Ellor who were like family to Doreen. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Church, 144 Simpson Drive on Thursday July 4, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Heart and Stroke Foundation or to St. Ann’s Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
