Obituary of Audrey M J Edwards

The seven children of Audrey M. J. Edwards were called together at the Dr. Everett Chambers Hospital, Palliative Care Unit to be with their Mum who was taking her final journey to be with the Lord and beloved husband, Fred. As the last one said good-bye, Mum left us on Sunday, July 14, 2013 to go Home. She was born on June 18, 1927 in Saint John to the late Gabriel and Marion (Shiels) Hayman. Audrey was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. She is survived by her five daughters, Nancy Arnburg (Arthur), Judy Bamford (Tony), Joan Stone (Eugene), Diane O’Connor (Eldon) and Donna Shannon (Gary); two sons, Frederick "Pebby" Edwards (Michelle) and Tony Edwards (Kim); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her namesake, Audrey "Deedee" MacMillan. Audrey was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and sister, Eleanor; nephew, Frank Tofts Jr.; grandson Peter Joseph Jeffries; great grandson Neema Josh Barati-Stone; and great granddaughter Ella Audrey Stone. Resting at St. James the Less Church, 1760 Rothesay Road, Rothesay, with visiting on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon from the church, preceded by a gathering of family and friends at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish remembrances to Victoria’s Quilts or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
