Obituary of D. Gail Brideau

The death of Gail Brideau of Saint John, cherished wife of Stephen Brideau occurred peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on October 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gladys (Mercer) McGrath. Prior to her retirement, Gail was employed at the Saint John Regional Hospital in the housekeeping department; a job she truly enjoyed and where she made many lifelong friends. A true social butterfly, she always enjoyed times spent with her dear family and friends. Gail loved to dance and her and Stephen could often be seen on a Saturday night dancing the night away. She will be sadly missed. Besides her husband, Stephen, Gail is also survived by her children, Michelle (Tony) of Saint John, Shawn (Bonnie) of Alberta and Jeffery of Saint John; sisters, Diane McCrea (Blaine), Phyllis Titus (Billy) and Gladys McGrath all of Saint John; brothers, Stephen, Wayne, Freddie (Patty), Paul and Peter all of Saint John; grandchildren,. Anthony, Amelia and Zachary; special friend, Claudine Comeau; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other good friends. Gail was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Arthur and Terry; as well as many dear friends. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM. The funeral liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 1, 2013, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Rocmaura Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
