Obituary of Anne M. Gallop

After a period of failing health the death of Anne M. Gallop, wife of Roy Gallop of Saint John occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, August 1, 2014. Anne was born in Saint John on August 11, 1925, daughter of the late H. D. "Holly" and Mildred (Roberts) MacFarlane. Anne was a graduate of Saint John Vocational School. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and was very active in the Mission Band. She also looked after the church nursery and helped out with the junior choir and enjoyed quilting with her friends at the church. Roy and Anne were married in London, Ontario on May 26, 1951 and she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her husband, Anne is also survived by her daughter, Pamela of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters: Irene Thompson and Thelma Brown; as well as brothers: Buster, George and Harold MacFarlane. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, August 3 and Monday, August 4 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Lorneville Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, but for those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
