Obituary of Doreen Violet Dunphy

Doreen Violet Dunphy passed away on March 24, 2015 at home. Born on June 16, 1933 in Williamsburg, NB, she was a daughter of the late Allan C. and Gertrude (Gallagher) Bartlett. Surviving are her children, Stanley Dunphy, Saint John; Dale Dunphy Sr., Saint John; Bruce Dunphy, Kelowna, BC; Vicki (Aaron Woodhouse) Callaghan, Saint John; brothers, Irvine Bartlett; Hampton; Alfred (Joyce) Bartlett, Fergus, ON; Charles (Florence) Bartlett, Saint John; grandchildren, Dale Dunphy Jr., Sabrina Dunphy, Timothy Callaghan, Matthew Callaghan, Jonathan Callaghan, Christopher Callaghan, Pamela Callaghan, Melissa Callaghan and Wayne Callaghan; 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Elton "Bill" Dunphy; and brother, Stanley Bartlett, sister, Gertrude Thibodeau; Brother-in-law, Gerald Thibodeau, daughter-in-law, Ruth Young. Visitation at Brenan’s Funeral Home (634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John on Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 12:00 pm for Brenan’s Chapel. Donations in memory of Doreen, may be made to The Breast Health Trust Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
