Obituary of Mary Gallant

Gallant, Mary "Cletta" The death of Mary "Cletta" (Reid) Gallant, wife of the late Joseph M. Gallant, occurred on August 24, 2011 at St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on March 6, 1912. She was the daughter of the late John and Julia (McCafferty) Reid. She is survived by her children Joan (Ronnie) Mills, Delores (Richard) Rathburn, Rose-Marie (Ralph) Ervin, Joy (Joe) Mott, Hubert (Ellen) Gallant; she will be missed by 24 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends. Cletta will also be missed by her long time, very dear companion Jack Chamberland. Cletta was also predeceased by her son Leo Joseph Gallant in 2002; and her brother Clem Reid. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 2-4 and 7 -9 p.m. The Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Parish, Grand Bay-Westfield. The interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery, and a reception will take place back at St Matthew’s Parish The family would like to thank the staff at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home for their love and compassion.
