Obituary of Margaret Bell-Watson

Mrs. Margaret Marie (Wilkes) Bell-Watson passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 24, 2013. Born in Public Landing, NB, on September 3, 1932 to the late Wilfred and Alice (Harrington) Wilkes. Widow of Arthur R. Bell and Cedric E. Watson. Early education in Public Landing, Browns Flat High School and Modern Business College. Employed at Battery & Electric / auto Tec for 42 years retiring in 1992 to care for her mother. Margie was Anglican by Faith and member of the old Parish of Westfield all of her life until the churches were closed and now a member of St. Jude’s West Saint John. She is a member of Dom. Lodge #18 L.O.B.A Greenwich Gems, the former Wednesday morning Bowling League. An active member of the Conservative Party and a representative of Avon for 29 years. She is survived by two sisters Evelyn (Charles) Hardie, Joyce Losier; her niece Nona Lynn Mitton and cousins; also special friends Lynn, Charlotte and her beloved cat Callie. Margie’s extended family includes a very special niece Laura (Watson) Lingley; her husband Neil and sons Craig, Ian and Zachary. One step-son Stephen (Lorraine) Watson; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her brother-in-law Ellis (Gerri). Two sisters-in-law Violet (Garth) Black and Betsy (Guy) Tompkins. Besides her husbands, parents and grandparents she was predeceased by her infant brother Douglas, step-son Charles Watson, step-daughter Diane Watson-DeRay. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will take place Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held from St. George’s Anglican Church at 11 am Saturday, December 28, 2013. All are welcome to gather for a time of fellowship and refreshments at St. Georges Hall on Watson Street following the service. Donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
