Obituary of Giuseppe Mercuri

Mr. Giuseppe “Joe” Mercuri passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 1, 2013. Born in Gizzeria, Province of Catanzaro, Italy, on August 4, 1943 a son of the late, Salvatore and Isabella (Teresa) Mercuri. He was known as Uncle Joe to everyone who knew him. Joe was the owner/operator of Adam and Eve Hairstyling for over 34 years, where he and his faithful and dedicated staff enjoyed many years together. He was an avid hunter, a gracious host and enjoyed hosting “Board of Director” Meetings in his home where good food and good company was enjoyed. Joe is survived by his wife Millie Mercuri; his son Andrew (Dawn) Mercuri of Saint John; three grandchildren Kristen, John and James all of Saint John; his mother-in-law Edna Boyle of Saint John; three sister-in-laws Rosaria Mercuri of Saint John, Angelina Mercuri of Italy and Sharon Boyle of Fredericton; as well as several special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Giovanna Rocca, Maria Mercuri, Nicola Mercuri, Carmela Mercuri (Folino) and Teodoro Mercuri; his father-in-law Gerald Boyle and his brother-in-laws Lowell Boyle and Bernardo Rocca. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 11:00am on December 5, 2013. In keeping with Joe’s wishes cremation will take place following the service. A private family Interment will be held at a later date.
