Obituary of Brenda Taylor
The passing of Brenda Irene Taylor, wife of Donald J. Taylor, of West Saint John occurred unexpectedly on August 11, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 04, 1942 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clement R. and Elizabeth A. (Parsons) Moore. Brenda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She always enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends. She loved to sing and was a 30 year member of Saint Jude’s Anglican Church where she was a member of the choir, ACW, and Golden Girls Craft Guild. She was a receptionist for 42 years, first for Dr. Kevin Bonner, then Dr. John and Dr. Lisa Yang and spent her evenings invoicing for her company, DJ Taylor electric Ltd. She also owned B & E Ceramics and loved making all types of crafts, willingly sharing her time and talents with all. Brenda was a member of Phillip A Jerguson Chapter 18, she served as Worthy Matron and went on to Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of New Brunswick Order of Eastern Star (OES) Brenda was also a member of Daughters of the Nile, Nereides Temple No 78 where she became Queen of the Nile, treasurer for several years and was a supreme appointee for the Daughters of the Nile. She travelled extensively with Don especially enjoying the many Shrine, OES, and Nile functions. Her generous spirit and laughter spread joy in her wake, no one liked to laugh more than Brenda. Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Donald J Taylor, her daughter Krista Taylor (Zoltan Sallai) of Oakville, Ontario, her sons Robert (Vikki) Taylor of Carnation, Washington and James (Jamie) Taylor of Fredericton, NB, and her brother Sterling Moore of Ontario. Also her sisters-in-law Lida C. Kierstead, Evangeline (Eve) C. Lee (Lino Pascon), Myrtelle A. (Albert) Speight, Doris M. Taylor and Judith A. (Kenneth) Galbraith all of Saint John, NB and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Ellen Ryder and Eveline Scott and her brothers-in-law Alban Taylor, Kenneth Kierstead, Ron Lee, Cecil Ryder, and Malcolm (Chip) Scott. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Saturday August 13, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. An OES Service will be held at 6:30pm on Saturday August 13, 2016. The Funeral Service will take place on Sunday August 14, 2016 at 4:00pm at the Carleton Kirk Chapel with Rev. Rob Salloum officiating. Honorary Pall bearers for the service will be Leo Dugan, Bill Clark, Bill Ryan, Barry Mabey, Malcolm Scott, and Zoltan Sallai. A reception will be follow the Funeral Service at Carleton Kirk Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Shrine Hospital, Luxor Transportation Fund, Westside Anglican Mission or the charity of the donor’s choice.
