Obituary of John McGovern

With sadness Mr. John "Jack" McGovern of Saint John, NB, passed away at his residence on Friday, April 25th, 2014. Born in Port Glasgow, Scotland on February 18th, 1929. He was the son of Edward and Violet McGovern. A member of the Scotish Merchant Navy, 2 nd Marine Engineer, immigrated to Canada in 1960 to begin his life with his wife and family. Jack spent 30 years at Kimberly Clark and 7 years at Irving Tissue as an Industrial Mechanic. Jack was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and photogtaphy for many years. Jack is survived by his loving wife Emily of 58 years, 2 children; Jeffrey (Lori) of Grand-Bay, Jacqueline (Scott) of Saint John and 3 grandsons; Conor, Justin and Kenneth. Predeceased by one son Allan. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB E2M 2L3A. 634-1701. A funeral service wil be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Castles and a reception to follow next door. Memorial donations may be made to the local Food Bank or the donor's choice.
