Obituary of Helen Donovan
Donovan, Helen Mae Helen M. Donovan, age 77, passed away peacefully in her daughter-in-law Lezlie’s arms, at the Saint John Regional Hospital Tuesday, December 13, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late Harry “Hedley” Donovan and the daughter of the late F. Clayton and Lily (Robinson) Lewis Helen was a Psychiatric Attendant at Centracare for many years and was very involved in the Union. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and was known as “nanny” to many. She loved to knit and especially enjoyed travelling after her retirement. She will be remembered by her sons Harold (Lezlie), Lower Greenwich, NB., and Lewis (Charlotte), Saint John, NB., daughters Deborah Nadeau, Saint John, NB., Alma (Gorden) Taggart, Woodstock, NB., and Sheila Donovan (Ian), Moncton, NB.; brother Heber (Barbara) Lewis, Coldstream, NB.; sisters Freda (Tom) Bolden, Fredericton, NB., and Diana (Richard) Hallet, Peel, NB.; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was also predeceased by her brother Wendell and sister Ella Nevers. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 1 pm from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A reception at Fallsview Family Reception Centre will follow the burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
