Obituary of Robert (Bob) Earl Clark
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Earl Clark announce his peaceful passing on January 29, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on December 27, 1931, to the late Wellington and Margaret (nee Bradbury) Clark.
Bob proudly served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He worked for the sugar refinery and then for the City of Saint John before retiring.
Upon marrying his love Ruth they continued to grow their family and spent as much time as they could camping and travelling. They drove through most of the States and all across Canada (usually with a van full of grandkids). Bob and Ruth’s house was the gathering place for generations of family and friends. For it was such a welcoming and safe haven for all who entered.
Bob will be deeply missed by his four daughters: Catherine (Gilbert) Burke, Susan Clark, Janet (Marty) Stevens, and Linda Gallant; three sons: Bud (Maureen) Clark, Johnny Gallant, and David (Claire) Gallant; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Ruth (nee Jones) Clark; son Robert Clark; parents Wellington and Margaret (nee Bradbury) Clark; as well as his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A Funeral Liturgy for Bob will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Castle Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 12:00 PM. Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to Donor’s choice.
