Since my arrival at Carleton-Kirk United Church, September 2021 I've had the pleasure of sitting and chatting with Bessie many times, on the phone or in person. Bessie loved to have a cup o' tea, share stories of Carleton-Kirk, and the fishing exploits of her late husband Harry A. Pickrell.
Bessie loved life to the fullest. My last, very brief visit with Bessie was Saturday January 28th 2023. From from the threshold of her apartment, at the Chateau. Bessie cautioned me "not to come in...!" I knew she was sick. I was shocked but not surprised, Monday January 30th 2023, to hear of her passing.
On behalf of the Church family at Carleton-Kirk, deepest and sincerest condolences are extended to the Pickrell family in your loss. May the days ahead provide healing opportunities from the grief you feel today. God Bless.
