Mary Aburrow

Obituary of Mary Aburrow

With heavy hearts, the family of Mary (Cook) Aburrow, wife of the late Malcolm “Mac” Aburrow, announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a period of failing health. Born March 24, 1961 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Cecilia (Chamberlain) Cook.

Mary was one of a kind, with an infectious smile and a heart of gold. She spent her life in service to others, always in a caregiving capacity. She was always up for an adventure or a good chat. Her children and granddaughters were her world and they will hold their special memories close to their hearts and never forget the impact she had on them all.

Mary is survived by her son, Ernie Cook; daughter, Natasha Moore; granddaughters, Charly and Madison “Maddie” Moore; brothers: Percy Cook (Linda), Joseph Cook (Roberta), and Donald Cook (Mary); sisters: Hazel Brideau (Ivan) and Suzie Cook; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mary was predeceased by her brothers: Jackie, Arthur, Malcolm, and Brian.

Join us as we honour the life of Mary at the Hammond River Angling Association, 10 Porter Road, Nauwigewauk, on Sunday, March 26th, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00pm. A Ceremony and Prayers will be held from 1:30 to 2:00pm.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
