Norman,Family and Friends My sincere sympathy to you all. Ethel Lyons was a classmate of mine while in the School of Medical Technology in Saint John. I also new Ethel as being from Doaktown as my sister and brother in law,Bill and Audrey MacKinnon lived there. Last time I saw Ethel was at an anniversary occasion of our Graduation from the School. Unfortunately, I do not remember the date. We met in Saint John and after the initial celebration we continued at Norm and Ethels'. I learned about Ethel's death from my nephew William MacKinnon who now lives in Hamilton. I am certain that Ethel's career as a Medical Technologist was meaningful.I only wish we had kept in touch. Norman, we are so terribly sorry for your loss. I have known you both for many many years and have always enjoyed our visits together however brief or far between. This is such sad news; I’m so sorry for your loss. I worked with Ethel in the lab and the comradery of the evening staff is one of my best lab memories. Ethel always shared stories of your family so we felt like we knew you; she certainly loved you all. The last time we were together was at a lab lunch, before the pandemic. To Norm, ML, Mark ,David and the other members of Ethel's family, Our hearts are saddened by the loss of your dear wife, mother, mother in law, Nanny ,sister and friend. Ethel was known to us as ML's Mom and as Nanny to her grandchildren. She loved her family very much. She always had a smile and a warm welcome for all. I personally have many fond memories of being at their home and feeling very welcomed. She even let ML and I take her red Chevette when we needed a car to get us to somewhere that we just had to get too. She hosted baby showers, wedding showers and rummoli nights for us in her home. The door was always open to us as ML's friends. She and Norm became friends with my Mom and Dad and I have fond memories of them all sitting together for many of the Christmas gatherings at ML's house on McCavour Drive.
