Obituary of Anita Louise Barnes
The family of Anita Louise Barnes announce her peaceful passing on the morning of Thursday, March 9, 2023. Born in Saint John, NB, on September 10, 1946, she was a daughter to the late Clifford and Christine (nee Robichaud) LeBlanc.
Anita will be deeply missed by her children Paul Barnes (Kim Barton), Mark (Katherine) Barnes, and Lori Boyles; grandson Brandon Barnes; sisters Paulette and Carol LeBlanc; brothers: Ronald (Jeanette), George (Sandra), and Camille LeBlanc; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Garland “Jack” Barnes, and parents Clifford and Christine.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Rocmaura Nursing Home for the excellent care and compassion during Anita’s stay. A particular thank you to Anita’s sister, Paulette, who visited her every day and took care of Anita throughout her time at Rocmaura. The two of you held a special bond which meant the world to Anita.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701) visitation for Anita will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Holy Spirit Parish – St. Rose of Lima Worship Site (541 Milford Rd, Saint John, NB) for 12:00 PM. Interment will directly follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in Anita’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Rocmaura Nursing Home.
